 Greetings Dr. J. Elisha Burke, Get excited with me! My Supplement Medicare card came in the mail on December 1, 2021. I saved some money. I owe a great deal of gratitude to you and the wonderful team of leaders of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia for including a session entitled “Medicare Matters” at the annual session in June of 2021.

Recently, in November 2021, I attended a BGCVA Health Ministry series on Medicare and Retirement Zoom Seminar. Those sessions were presented by Zachariah and Diana Edwards, who are Independent Brokers and Certified Senior Advisors of Edwards Medicare and Retirement. Thank you for inviting them.

Zach and Diana sat down with the participants “At the Medicare Table.” First, they introduced and explained the basic details of Medicare. Second, facts of how COVID has affected Medicare costs were discussed. Finally, much time was spent clarifying the necessity for each person to have a Medicare drug plan. Several other pertinent topics were presented. Many questions were asked. Answers with details and practical explanations were given. Dr. Burke, you were there!

Each participant was invited to schedule an appointment with Zach and Diana so that individual private sessions could be conducted to supply information that may be used to meet the one-on-one needs of each person. At my appointment, I was given the time to share concerns about recent changes in my Medicare plan. I was given advice. Then, I was able to decide and move forward with getting the best coverage, just for me!

The same day, after the appointment with Diana, I called the insurance carrier and in less than ten minutes, I had a new supplement plan. Did I mention earlier that I saved some money?

I have and will continue to share how Zach and Diana helped me. They are truly a blessing. It is my hope that through the complexities of understanding some essential information and preparing for health and life challenges, I will be able to help someone. Better yet, I am going to point people to the experts, Zach and Diana.
